Job Summary:
We are seeking a mid-level CloudOps Engineer to deploy, operate, and secure AWS environments for our healthcare and data-platform clients. You will run single-tenant platforms deployed inside client AWS accounts, built on containers, serverless, managed databases, and AI services, all defined as code with Terraform. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience owning AWS infrastructure in production and working within HIPAA-grade security controls.
Job Description:
As a CloudOps Engineer, your core responsibilities will include:
- Deploying and maintaining single-tenant platforms inside client AWS accounts using Terraform/Terragrunt.
- Setting up new client environments end to end: account baseline, VPC, IAM, KMS, and service deployment.
- Operating containerized and serverless workloads on ECS (Fargate), AWS Batch, Lambda, SQS, SES, and EC2.
- Managing data stores: RDS PostgreSQL, S3, ElastiCache (Redis), and supporting self-managed stores such as vector and analytics databases.
- Running SFTP data intake on AWS Transfer Family and S3 for client data feeds.
- Managing release pipelines (AWS CodePipeline, CodeCommit) with cross-account ECR image pulls, rolling deployments, and automatic rollback.
- Applying infrastructure changes through reviewed Terraform workflows and a controlled deployment host.
- Enforcing security controls: private subnets, security groups, VPC endpoints, WAF, KMS encryption, TLS, and least-privilege IAM per service.
- Monitoring and alerting with CloudWatch, GuardDuty, VPC Flow Logs, EventBridge, and SNS.
- Implementing backup and retention with AWS Backup encrypted vaults, and testing restores.
- Managing secrets and configuration with Secrets Manager and AppConfig.
- Supporting integrations with Amazon Bedrock and client data warehouses such as Snowflake.
- Responding to production issues with urgency and writing clear postmortems.
- Reducing hosting cost through rightsizing, tagging, and usage reviews.
- Working with client CloudOps teams on onboarding and shared Day-2 ownership.
- Providing regular progress updates and managing your own deadlines.
